Description

The fortress is located in Kobuleti municipality. The monument stands in the village, on Chakhati mountain, on the ridge ending in a massive rock, 1150 m above sea level.

The castle is oval in circumference. Fragments of the fence in some places reach 3-4 meters, in some places the rock forms a wall. Remains of various buildings can be seen in the area. The castle itself is built of grown cobblestones and flat sand. The wall thickness is 1 meter. The castle is less explored, it is considered to be a building of the feudal era, which was used as an intelligence-surveillance point. According to legend, during the Ottoman rule, it was one of the points of sale of captives. According to the legend, someone built Elia Diasamidze to hide the kidnapped captives. The north side had a tower that no longer exists. The total area of ​​the prison is about 80 m2. The fort has access from two sides, from Natskhavatevi and Gogmachauri.
