Historical and archaeological complex "Petra-Tsikhisdziri" was built in the 6th century on the order of the emperor of the Byzantine Empire, Justinian. The fortress city Petra was of great military-strategic and economic importance, connecting the regions of the eastern Black Sea coast - Georgia, Byzantium, Armenia, and Persia. The fortress is located 17 km from Batumi, in the village of Tsikhisdziri, near the main road. The entrance is free.
