The foundation of the temple was laid in 2004. It is mostly built of massive stone, which indicates special construction difficulties. Sarpi Temple is presented in the architectural style of old Tao-Klarjeti and is a sample of Georgian architecture developed after the Middle Ages. The temple contains almost all types of carvings common in Georgia. It uses the method of roofing with lorfin, which is considered to be a continuation of the ancient Georgian tradition. Sarpi St. The Church of St. Andrew the First-Called was consecrated on October 19, 2012.
